The New Normal Post-Pandemic — Data Analysis, AI Technology, and IoT

Many businesses were shaken by the pandemic hit. A sudden outbreak left people from different communities’ act in multiple ways to keep themselves safe from contracting the virus while also maintaining a balance in their normal lives.

Not to mention, many quick solutions to regain businesses arose since the pandemic. People were becoming more active and agile more than ever. Meanwhile, management and business stakeholders started seeking better solutions and better strategies such as contactless transactions, replacing manual tasks with automation, remote collaboration, and more. Owing to all these changes, there’s a high probability for humans to remain safe and free from becoming the victims.

However, due to the lack of proper coordination, many of these solutions created confusion. To avert such incidences, technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and authoritative data analysis proved effective, thus, blocked the spread of the pandemic.

One fine example is China. The country followed a unified approach post the virus scare. Nonetheless, officials are still working on multiple resources to curb the pandemic. Many countries including the U.S. are still finding new approaches to fight the disease. While the major problem still lies in the old-fashioned approach people are taking to control the spread of the virus.

  • Upscaling of IoT: IoT is used to connect medical devices that facilitate the manufacturing process of medical supplies such as disinfectants, PPEs, and masks. This technology was proven significant amid the pandemic by staying connected with multiple devices. IoT technology also had the capability of sending an alert to domestic production houses in case they were in need of more medical supplies.
  • Online medical services: Countries such as China have started using technologies that offer self-screening to curb hospital visits. Doing this helps reduce the chances of the disease being spread from the medical base and reduces the non-essential hospital visits. Such healthcare programs are already being offered by companies like Alibaba and Tencent. Such services allow people to consult with doctors online and go through self-assessment without the need to visit the hospital.
  • Long-distance assistance on health issues: The country’s 5G network helped people even from far ends receive health assistance whenever required. The medical service could be availed using high-resolution images.

Other countries taking action against the spread of the disease

  • Counter-contagion nerve centers: Facilitating the new normal is a counter contagion nerve center that combines information gathered like immigration, telecommunications, travel database, and immigration in a spreadsheet. This information is further processed using AI technology for better predictions like generating real-time alerts, identifying causes, and coordinating with medical interventions.

With the help of such a facility, real-time screening at different ports across multiple countries is likely possible. Doing so allows the country to gather information about the health statuses of the person entering the port. It also provides information regarding the person’s health status such as a healthy person, or a person that needs to be quarantined, or those looking to turn away.

  • Installing biosensing devices: The biosensing devices will be added for public use. Such devices can easily detect viral pathogens present in the soil, air, physical surfaces, animal tissues, and even humans. These could also become wearables to predict the spread of the virus from one person to another while also monitoring how these diseases are accelerated in a larger group of people.

AI technology such as AI-driven service robots can now interrogate people even in public places to determine whether they are infected.

In a nutshell, the new normal post-pandemic can only become possible using advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, or data analysis via cloud computing.
